5 DOG-FRIENDLY HOTELS IN ENGLAND

Dog lovers rarely feel good about leaving their pet behind when they go on holiday. Travelife Magazine has found some lovely dog-friendly boutique hotels in England that will be happy to welcome you and your dog to stay.

SOAR MILL COVE

Located in a rolling valley, just a short walk from its own beach and the winding South West Coast Path, Soar Mill Cove welcomes guests of all ages, including the four-legged kind.

It has a newly renovated spa and a salt-water swimming pool. The interiors are coastal chic — the perfect partner to the glorious setting outdoors around the hotel. Soar Mill Cove also offers glorious coastal walks along the South West coast path, right from the front door the hotel. It also has many dog-friendly areas around the hotel.

Soar Mill Cove also has its own beach, salt-water swimming pool and leisure facilities. Furthermore, the pretty town of Salcombe is very near so you will always have something to do at Soar Mill Cove Hotel.

WIDBROOK GRANGE

Located close to the historic town of Bradford-on-Avon, the Widbrook Grange hotel dates back to the early 1700s. It was originally built as a model farm. The main house and surrounding barns have been converted into a hotel with contemporary touches.

Guests will enjoy a home-away-from-home experience, which includes sweet touches such as complimentary wellies for muddy dog walks. Within the hotel, there is a bright conservatory for relaxation and a cozy lounge with leather armchairs and a fireplace.

Dogs have their own welcome amenity box including a tennis ball, dog biscuits, Lilly’s Kitchen dog food, a dog bed and bowl. All of the dog friendly rooms are located on the ground floor of the outer buildings to ensure easy access to the hotel’s gorgeous grounds.

MOUNT HAVEN

Mount Haven is a boutique hotel on the fringes of the ancient market town of Marazion in West Cornwall, and just a short drive from Penzance. It is the latest addition to the St Aubyn Estates which includes West Cornwall, the Godolphin Arms, holidays cottage in Porthgwarra and the iconic St. Michael’s Mount. Many of the rooms have sea views.

Guests traveling with their dogs can stay in Mount Haven’s Garden Haven rooms, which are dog-friendly. Located on the lower ground floor, the rooms have their own private courtyards and offer direct access to the gardens. Dogs are offered their own beds, treats and water bowls on arrival.

THE GALLIVANT

Near the sand dunes of Camber and the town of Rye on the coast, The Gallivant in East Sussex is a 21-room hotel with an award winning restaurant.  Guests can book the Dog Lovers Package which includes dinner, bed and breakfast and doggy treats. a dog rug, toy and water bowl in his/her room, as well as some doggy treats.

SCARLET HOTEL

The Scarlet Hotel is a magical escape for adults and their dogs on the north coast of Cornwall. The hotel has sea view bedrooms, cliff top hot tubs, beautiful food and an ayurveda-inspired tented spa. The hotel offers homemade doggie treats in the room on arrival. They can even provide a playmate for dog guests. Jasper, the hotel whippet, loves playing on the beach with guests.
