Originally built in the 1980s, Hermes Estate was recently renovated although the decorators maintained most of its original vintage features. Meanwhile, the renovators haven’t scrimped on 21st century technology either. Guests can easily connect to music media via WIFI and have their favourite sounds filling the space via ducted speakers.

The library is another attraction. The owner has left in it a 1867 first edition of Charles Dickens that he purchased at auction over 14 years ago. There are other vintage and well cherished books as well.

The Hermes Estate is also fully equipped for a wellness holiday. Guests can dip into a hot tub nestled on their private balcony before heading to the spa studio. Inside, there’s a memory foam therapy bed ready for spa treatments. On the other hand, looking at the stunning gardens full of white hydrangeas, twin agave, white zephyranthus, and towering Magnolia trees.

The decorators took almost three years to complete the renovations. In the process, they’ve added an infinity pool and a pool house with a full service spa. They’re also making a yoga and art studio, a tennis court and an on site helipad.

Those who want to just forget everything can swim in the pure Never Never River which adjoins the retreat. This is also the source of the property’s mountain-fresh mineral water following a three-phase UV filtering system. Furthermore, local organic produce is sourced direct from the Bellingen area. So guests can indulge in healthy meals prepared by a French chef while dining with the finest crystal and cutlery.
